Samhain
Dear Friends,
We will celebrate on Saturday, November 2 (to welcome those who have weekends off from their jobs), which is today called All Souls Day, established by the Catholic Church to replace the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain.
This is the season of growing darkness between Autumn Equinox and Winter Solstice. It is a time when the powers of the dark are available to us. We enter the dark quiet still season of the year before we begin to make our return after Winter Solstice.
To the ancestors, this is the time when the veil between this world and the other side is thin,
In the Celtic calendar, this is when the veil between this world and the next grow thin so that beings can pass between them. Samhain is when the spirits of the dead can come back to comfort those left behind.
This will be our last circle around a fire outside before the winter is upon us.
Hope to see you!
We will celebrate Autumn Equinox at Arf Women's Land on Saturday, November 2.
